Swingfly - Singing that melody [Swingfly]

Swingfly is back! It’s been a while since I heard something new from Swingfly (I even heard rumors that he stopped rapping), so I was gladly suprised when I heard of this song. Swingfly has been a part of the Swedish hiphopscene for a long time and for those of you who listen to Swedish hiphop he shouldn’t need any introduction.

The new track is called “Singing that melody” and features the beautiful Bea on the chorus. The video (which seems heavily sponsored by NeoNode) is directed by Claudio Fransson.

Currently Swingfly’s working on a solo album together with producers/writers such as the Åhlund brothers (Teddybears STHLM, Caesars Palace, Britney Spears etc) , Andreas Kleerup (Robyn, Titiyo, Marit Bergman) and Thomas Rusiak (Mange Schmidt, Petter, Ken).

Miki - Kaptenen [Video]

Miki (from Spotrunnaz) is back with a new solo track. The track is called “Kaptenen” and is released by POPE Records and is avalible in stores and online now. As far as I know no album is planned at the moment so it’s just a single.
The track is produced by Shawndark and the video is directed by Martin Monk

Professor P och DJ Akilles - He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper

Fresh Prince and Dj Jazzy Jeff released “He’s the Dj, I’m the rapper” 20 years ago and now it’s Professor P and he’s constant producer DJ Akilles turn to release a mixtape with the same name (note, released some weeks ago).

It’s a classic sound combined with lyrics from the present time. The mixtape contains seven remixes of famous hiphop tracks and a remix from a track at Pro P’s debut album “Patience”. Produced by Proffessor P and DJ Akilles for ProAktive Beats and guests such as Prop Dylan, Arka, Remedeeh, Mr. Noun, AFC, Choys, Verbal and That Dude Prince!

Looptroop Rockers - The Building [Chords Remix]

The Building [Chords Remix] TSD Cover

It’s been a while since we posted anything new on this blog, I don’t think we’ll back at frequently posting yet (I don’t have internet in my apartment and my partner in crime is very busy at the moment) but we’ll try to update as often as possible.

To start things off we though we would give you a remix to one of this years hottest tracks, “The Building” by Looptroop Rockers. The funky remix is done by producer/rapper/singer Chords

Timbuktu & Damn! - Live!

A couple of years ago Timbuktu was on some heavy touring together with Damn! and Chords and could be seen all over Sweden. The shows were very popular and they really were something extra. Or so I’ve heard, some assclowns at megafeztival refused to pay them so I didn’t have a chance to see them in 2004 (I got to see Chords though).

Fortunately for me (and many others) they recorded some of the shows and released them on CD. The CD sold some time ago and now Timbuktu & JuJu Records are releasing it as a free download, so if you haven’t got it already this is a great chance to get one of the best live CD’s I’ve heard!

Tracklist

1. Intro/Lobbyn om 5
2. Din lian i rapdjungelen
3. Ett brev
4. Strö lite socker på mig
5. Gott folk

The Last Days of Disco - The Last Dance LP

Last Dance LP Cover

The Last Days of Disco’s long awaited debut album, entitled “The Last Dance LP”, is out now!

The Last Days of disco concists of producers K-Laz (who soon will release music under his alias “Blänk“) and Soul Supreme (probably most known to the public as Kocky, who released his second album “Stadium Status” just a couple of weeks ago). The group formed in 2005 during one drunk evening at “Hultsfredsfestivalen” when they decided to make music together. Their debut-single, “What does it mean 2 U” featuring members of Sleeping Giants, was released in 2006.

But after that it went quiet, until february this year when they released their second single, “This is what I look like naked” which featured Promoe.  They might not be very well known i Sweden (yet!) but they’ve already managed to get distribution in Italy and it seems that their music is very well recieved there.

I currently don’t know where you can get their album other than iTunes, but it’s definetly worth the 90 SEK it costs. If you don’t believe me you can listen to the full album here!

Chords - Appetite for Consumption feat. Timbuktu [Video]

Chords released his sophomore album “Things we do for things” a couple of weeks ago and if you haven’t already I strongly advise you to go out and buy it! Last friday he released a video to the track “Appetite for Consumption” which features Timbuktu. This is not the next single from the album and the video was just shot for fun.

The video was shot in Venice Beach during last September and is directed by Kirk Edwards & Sam Claypool.

Lazee - Back for the 1st time [Mixtape]

Lazee - Back for the 1st time

Lazee is probably most known to the masses through his hit “Rock Away” which was released a couple of months ago. But before this he was already known in the swedish underground through numerous tracks and a mixtape hosted by “Dj Kay Slay“.

Now he’s back with a new mixtape called “Back for the 1st time” which is hosted by “Dj Preview“. The mixtape is released for free through Kingsize and from what I’ve heard so far it sounds really promising. Personally I’m really excited to see that he’s collaborating with skrilla kidz again!

JuJu Publishing/Universal Publishing signs Promoe & Supreme

JuJu Publishing / Universal Music Publishing has signed a publishing deal with Supreme and Promoe from The Looptroop Rockers. The deal was inked right before their show at “Allhuset” in Stockholm last saturday.

Looptroop Rockers (formerly known as Looptroop) released their third album “Good Things” last wednesday and the album has been well recieved by the audience as well as the critics (we’ve already praised it so I don’t have to go into details about how great it really is). Looptroop Rockers will be out on tour until early autumn. For tourdates check their hompage.

Featured on the picture is: Jonas Wikström (Universal Publishing), Promoe & Supreme (Looptroop Rockers) and Mikael Wadström & Claes Uggla (JuJu Publishing). Don’t be alarmed I’m sure they’re not as dangerous as they look.
